There is no current planning consent for any change of use. The core strategy for Erewash Borough Council was adopted in March 2014. The site lies outside the defined village "envelope". It is not within a conservation area. It is within the area defined as Green Belt, which is covered by Policy GBI which states "a presumption against inappropriate development excepting very special circumstances .......". Policy GB2 deals with development within settlements "washed over" by Green Belt, limiting infilling where certain criteria are satisfield. The owners are inviting join venture proposals for the promoting of the site under Policy GB2.
